Sanjay Sehgal is a founder and Managing Partner & CEO of East West Capital Partners, a healthcare-focused private equity firm based out of Singapore and Bangalore. Prior to EWCP, Sanjay was a Partner and member of the investment committee at Symphony Capital Partners (Asia) (f.k.a Schroder Capital Partners) focused doing development capital and buy-outs throughout the Asia-Pacific region. Prior to joining SCP in 1994, Sanjay was a Manager in the Boston office of LEK Consulting, an international strategy consulting firm. Sanjay has a Bachelor of Technology degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, an MSc. in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University, New York and an MBA, with distinction, in finance and multinational management from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

- Mr. Stiegman leads MCRA’s submission process, regulatory strategy,
analysis and development: from pre-clinical testing, to FDA submissions,
to market approval and post commercialization.
Prior to joining MCRA, Mr. Stiegman served as the Chief of the Orthopedic Devices
Branch for US Food and Drug Administration. As Branch Chief, he managed a team
of scientists, clinicians, and engineers in the regulation of all orthopedic devices
marketed in the United States. Additionally, Mr. Stiegman was responsible
for overseeing all FDA guidance documents and policy determinations for orthopedic
devices marketed in the US. Furthermore, he assisted in and oversaw all integrity,
compliance, and monitoring issues regarding the orthopedic industry in collaboration
with the Office of Compliance.
Mr. Stiegman was also a member of Orthopedic Device Forum and Orthopedic Surgical
Manufacturer Association. Mr. Stiegman pursued reclassifying several types of
orthopedic devices, developing guidance documents on state-of-the-art orthopedic
devices, and educating and assisting the orthopedic community in the regulatory
strategies.
Mr. Stiegman received his Bachelor in Science at Tulane University in
Biomedical Engineering and his Master in Science at Clemson University
in Bioengineering with a focus on biomaterials and biomechanics.

company and an Adjunct Instructor of Medicine at the Hospital of the University of

Dynova Laboratories, Inc., HerbalScience, Inc., and Paratek Pharmaceuticals, Inc.
Previously, he served on the board of MAP Pharmaceuticals, Inc. ("MAPP": NASDAQ).
Dr. Sun received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University and his

- David Tharp is a Vice Consul at the British Consulate General and
Sector Lead for the Biotechnology & Pharmaceuticals Industry in
the US market for UK Trade & Investment (UKTI). Mr. Tharp
leads a team of approximately 20 officers and business development
associates in the US focused on advising UK companies on their market
entry strategy as well as the expansion plans of larger US companies
to the UK. This team is based at the eight British Consulates
across the US and the British Embassy in Washington D.C.
Prior to joining UKTI, Mr. Tharp was employed by Decision Resources,
an international publishing and consulting firm evaluating world-wide
markets and emerging technologies in the biopharmaceutical industry
where he co-authored reports focusing on the importance of biological
pathways in market segmentation and analysis.
Mr. Tharp earned a BSc. in biology with a concentration in genetics
from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and has contributed
to several research projects in private and academic settings, including
an appointment as visiting scientist at the Whitehead Institute/MIT
Center for Genome Research and Massachusetts General Hospital in the
field of psychiatric population genetics. He is currently pursuing
a M.B.A. at the Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford.

- Dr. Garrett Vygantas joined Burrill & Company in 2006 as a Senior Associate
in the Venture Group and is involved in the sourcing and evaluating of new
investment opportunities across the life science spectrum. Dr. Vygantas
is also part of the Burrill International Group. He recently co-founded
and was interim CEO for NewBridge Pharmaceuticals, a Dubai-based specialty
pharmaceutical company commercializing innovative therapies to treat diseases
of increasing incidence (diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular and cancer) in the
Middle East, Africa, Turkey and Caspian regions. Before joining Burrill,
he was with Genentech’s Market Planning Group where he focused on the
commercialization and launch of Lucentis® (ranibizumab injection) for the treatment
of wet age-related macular degeneration. Prior to Genentech, Dr. Vygantas
worked with retinal specialists in Chicago where he consulted on a variety of
diabetes-related ophthalmic imaging projects. Dr. Vygantas previously
served as an Intern for Burrill & Company (Venture Group), Cowen (Healthcare
Investment Banking Group), and EntreMed (Business Development). Garrett
serves on the Board of Directors of NewBridge and is an observer on Proventys,
Efficas and TRF Pharma. Along with Dr. Zack Scott, he is a Co-Instructor
at UCSF’s Center for BioEntrepreneurship’s “Idea to IPO” curriculum and has
advised in the formation of numerous start-up biotech companies. Having

Scott joined Pappas Ventures in February 2006. Prior to that, he was an
investment manager and research analyst for Silverback Asset Management's life
sciences fund where he focused on healthcare securities investing. Before
joining Silverback, he spent three years at Chicago Growth Partners (formerly
William Blair Capital Partners), a private equity firm with approximately
$1 billion under management, where he was a Vice President focusing on
healthcare venture capital investments. Previously, he spent three
and a half years in investment banking at Lehman Brothers, where he worked
in the health care group in New York covering biotechnology and drug delivery,
the financial sponsors/leveraged finance group in London, and the media/telecom
group in Hong Kong. Scott also spent a year performing research on cell
apoptosis at the Duke University Levine Science Research Center.
